Privacy policy
Last updated 26 September 2026
This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use this website or book a stay with us, why we collect it, how long we keep it and what your rights are.
1. Who we are
Cornish Coastal is a trading name of Blue Square Property Holdings Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 06755250), whose registered office is at 3 Douglas Close, Barnet, England, EN4 0AQ. We are the controller of the personal information described in this policy. For bookings at Veil House, Camden, which we manage on behalf of its owner, we share the details needed for your stay with the owner, who is also responsible for them. You can contact us about your information on 07958 271177 or by WhatsApp.
2. What information we collect
- Booking requests: your name, email address, mobile number, number of guests, the home and dates you choose, the price shown and anything you tell us in the notes box.
- Bookings and stays: details of your booking, payments (such as the name and reference on a bank transfer; we do not store full card numbers), messages with us, arrival times and any information you give us about your party, such as pets or a travel cot.
- Owner enquiries: if you ask about letting your holiday home with us, your name, email address, phone number, what you tell us about your property and how you heard about us.
- Email sign-up: your email address and the date you signed up, if you ask to hear about offers.
- WhatsApp and phone: your phone number, name and the messages you send us.
- Technical information: when you use the website, our hosting provider receives your IP address and basic browser information, as with any website. We use IP addresses briefly to stop spam and repeated automated booking requests. We also count visits to the website without cookies: we record the page viewed, the website you came from and an anonymous code that changes every day, so we can see how many people visit. We do not store your IP address for this and cannot use it to identify you.
We do not collect special category information, such as health details, unless you choose to tell us something (for example about accessibility needs) so we can help with your stay.
3. Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To take and manage your booking, contact you about it, take payment and prepare the home for your arrival. This is necessary for our contract with you, or to take steps at your request before entering into it.
- To reply to owner enquiries and discuss letting or managing your property. This is at your request, before we may enter into a contract with you.
- To keep business, tax and accounting records. This is necessary to comply with our legal obligations.
- To protect our homes and business, for example preventing fraud and spam, dealing with damage or disputes, and improving our service. This is in our legitimate interests.
- To send you offers and last-minute availability by email, only if you have signed up. This is based on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by replying to any email or messaging us.
We do not sell your information, and we do not make decisions about you using automated profiling.
4. Who we share it with
- Our cleaning and maintenance teams, who receive only what they need, such as arrival and departure dates and the number of guests.
- The owner of Veil House, for stays at that home.
- Service providers who help us run our business, such as our website and hosting provider, email and messaging services (including WhatsApp, which is run by Meta), our bank and card payment provider, and our accountants. They may only use your information to provide their services to us.
- Authorities, such as HMRC, the police or our insurers, where we are required by law or it is needed to deal with a claim.
Some of our service providers are based outside the UK, including in the United States. Where your information is transferred outside the UK, it is protected by UK adequacy regulations or approved contractual safeguards.
5. How long we keep it
- Confirmed bookings: for 6 years after the end of your stay, as required for tax and accounting records.
- Booking requests that do not go ahead: deleted within 12 months.
- Owner enquiries that do not go ahead: deleted within 24 months.
- Email sign-up: until you unsubscribe, after which we keep only a note of your email address so we don't contact you again.
- Spam-prevention records of IP addresses: held in memory for no more than an hour.
6. Cookies and third-party content
This website does not set cookies and does not use advertising or third-party tracking tools. Our own simple visitor count is described in section 2. To display the site, your browser loads fonts from Google Fonts and, on the individual home pages, a map from OpenStreetMap. These services receive your IP address when they send the content to your browser. If you click a WhatsApp or Airbnb link, the information you give those services is covered by their own privacy policies.
7. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your information, where we no longer need to keep it;
- ask us to restrict how we use your information, or object to us using it on the basis of legitimate interests;
- ask for information you gave us to be transferred to you or another organisation, in a commonly used format;
- withdraw your consent to marketing emails at any time.
To use any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We will reply within one month. There is normally no charge.
8. Contact and complaints
If you have a question or concern about how we use your information, please contact Chris Marino by post at 3 Douglas Close, Barnet, EN4 0AQ, on 07958 271177 or by WhatsApp. If you are not happy with our response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
